COMREC offers the widest range of fulfilling activities and programmes in South Australia. But eventually everyone gets to a stage in their lives where a gentle pace is more suitable. At COMREC Step Ahead, clients enjoy a calm and friendly environment in a house where the furniture is comfortable pastels and the atmousphere is quiet and relaxed. Our resident chooks share both their eggs and their company freely while the clients read and listen to soft, soothing music or just "hang out" on the verandah. Step Ahead activities include baking, jam making, knitting and many other such "old fashioned", gentle arts. Occasionally, a group may go out for coffee at a relaxed location or lunch with friends. Clients also can choose to join with COMREC North for the day on a more vigourous activity if they wish and return to Step Ahead when they need to.
